Welcome to Manila Clinton
My good friend Clinton just arrived from Hongkong today.
He is here to attend his brother's wedding and some good beach bumming. Our first beach getaway is Coron, Palawan. Aaaagh I can't wait. Coron and Boracay are my most favorite place here in the Philippines. Khenzie is coming with us also so it would be even more fun. I really hope the sun would show us some love this weekend though.

Bohol Island Escapade
Bohol is one of the best places we have visited. This island has lots of things to offer that you will surely enjoy. Since Bohol is big looking for affordable package tour is important. I spent days searching on internet of who can provide me a cheaper tour. PackageTour is paid per peson most of the price that i found was ranging from 3,500 to 5000. But since there was only 3 of us, 2 adult and one kid it's not really practical to pay per pax so i opted to just rent a car for 2000 pesos. A car can fit 4 person. They have their own list of places to go but you can ditch some of it and replace it with the other things/places you like

Baga Manila
Last Saturday we visited my friend's newly opened Yakitori bar at Baga Manila. It is the newest food stall convention at A Venue Open Parking Makati Ave. Baga stands for Barbecuers and Grillers Association. I think this will be my new favorite place to satisfy my Yakitori and Isaw cravings. :D

Chocolate Hills in Bohol
I'm glad that we finally get to see this natural wonder in our own eyes. This cone shaped, grass covered hills are actually limestone rocks. There is about 1776 of it. On dry season the grass turns brown an the hills looks like into seemingly endless rows of Hershey's chocolate kisses. This unique land formation was formed million years ago by the uplift of coral deposits and action of rain water and erosion.

Butterfly Garden in Bohol
Another enjoyable trip that we did in Bohol was the visit to Butterfly Conservation Garden. Here visitors get to acquaint themselves with the butterflies life cycle and even get to hold the baby caterpillars. Beautiful butterflies fly freely in the garden. The plants are strategically planted so the flowers will attract the same butterfly that they breed. The guide informed us that the male butterflies has more majestic colors to attract the females. (how cool is that) And we were told also that butterflies mate for 24 fuck*n hours. Wow! :D And that the gay butterflies has mixed colors and irregular wing shape. The guides are very funny making the trip even more enjoyable. They also let us touch the butterflies and put it in our hands, hair or face.

Tarsier Sanctuary
Tarsier is the worlds smallest primate. They measure only up to 8 to 16 cm. Their eyes is bigger than their brain, the tail is longer than their body and the toe is what they use to grip on tree branches. But this smallest furry creature can jump up to 16ft. (crazy right?) :D
They are among those endangered species that's why Tarsier Sanctuary was made to protect them from extinction. Tarsiers are nocturnal and suicidal. They are put under stress when disturbed by touching, loud noises and moving the tree where they are staying that could prompt them to commit suicide. (yes not only human commit suicide) so tourist are advise to be quiet as much as possible and don't use flash when taking pictures. There are only few of them left in this world so we must take care of them even on simplest way like by obeying the rules at the sanctuary.

Man-Made Forest in Bohol
9.20.13
This Man-made mahogany forest is situated in Bilar,Bohol. It's 2 kilometer forest planted by boyscouts and girlscouts in 1960's as part of the reforestation program. The forest look stunning, you would not think you're in the Philippines but at the same time it felt a bit creepy for me. I guess it was the cooler breeze, dark surrounding because of the mahogany leaves blocking the sun rays and trees uniformly standing up.

Sunset at Aninuan Beach Resort
Sunset at Aninuan beach resort is definitely one of the nicest resorts in Puerto Galera. It is perfect for people seeking a place far from the madding crowd of White Beach.. The resort offers a beach front rooms, swimming pool, gym, billiards and a bar overlooking the ocean. What i love most about this resort is they have loooots of sunloungers and how amazing the staff are. Lots of the time that i was chilling at sunlounger the rain would start pouring and the staff would come automatically and put big umbrellas so you could still enjoy the ocean views. Amazing how you don't even need to ask them. The food though is a bit over-priced for what it taste. It sucks that it was raining most of our stay so we couldn't really visit Luca's Cucina Italia and Lodge. We've stayed there before and they serve good italian food. The free breakfast that comes with the room is only continental but you can pay more to upgrade it to American or English breakfast. But despite the rain and so so quality food we still had a nice stay.
