Twilight at Gota Island

No beach trip is complete until I've had some walk at the beach on twilight, my most favorite time of the day. Even though I'm not a morning person i would always make it to a point to not miss it. I just love the pink blue skies and the cool breeze. It such a treat too that Gota Village is kind of remote so there is really no one at the beach yet during this time.

Matukad Island

Matukad Island has powedery white sand beach. The sand is so fine it feels like stepping on a powdered milk. The tour guide informed us that there is also a lagoon behind the rock formations but i wasn't that brave to climb the sharp rocks.

Basking in the Sun

Ryan and i enjoyed a day of basking in the sun at Caramoan Islands, or in my case sheltering in the shade whenever it's possible :D I just don't really like getting dark plus i want to bask in the rays the safe way. ;) First island that we visited was Lahos Island. The beach is in between of a very similar limestone formations and you can enter on both ways. They said that during high tide the white sandy beach disappears that's why they call it Laho which is the tagalog word for that.

Tayak Lagoon in Caramoan

Tayak Lagoon is probably my most favorite on our island hopping at Caramoan. This stunning emerald green lagoon is nestled behind Tayak beach. You can enter by trekking on a slippery trail and sharp cliffs but our tour guide told me that you can also enter by swimming underneath the rocks on the side of the beach.

The place is so serene and peaceful. It was such a treat too that we had this beautiful place all to ourselves. While Ryan was enjoying swimming i just sat there staring up in awe of all the huge limestone cliffs that surrounds us.

Gota Village Resort

I first heard of Gota Village back in 2008 when some of my friends were working there during the Koh Lanta (french version of Survivor) show. Our friend invited us a few times but Ryan's work was always preventing it. But since he is working from home now there was no reason anymore to put off this trip.
The Gota Village Resort is very secluded. Hidden between mountains,  beautiful beaches perfect for swimming, kayaking and snorekelling. No wonder it has always been the favorite setting of the the Survivor shows.

Wooden Cabanas

Gota has 3 beaches. The first 2 beaches can be access by foot. This one is in front of the restaurant. Has got white and very fine sands but really small.

The second beach is on the left side and you have to walk on this bridge for about 5 minutes. I loved walking here. The deafening sounds of crickets felt a bit eerie but at the same time the sight and smell of the forest were just mesmerizing and beautiful.

Waves kept erasing it. LOL

Silly sand writing :D

Our large wooden cabana

The third beach of Gota Island is the Hunongan Cove, It is where their vip guests and executives of Survivor show usually stays. It's like a "secret paradise" hidden in towering limestone cliffs with green's vegetation, beach front cabanas and fine sand that is only accessible by 3 to 5 minutes boat ride.
