2014: A Look Back

Twenty fourteen was a great year of travel for me. It brought me to 5 countries and almost 20 different cities, each of which captured my heart in  a unique way. I've savored many mouthwatering meals, had countless laugh with my boys while on the road, and endless cocktails with friends. As i look back in the past year, I feel ridiculously blessed. I can only hope that 2015 will be just as amazing. So without further ado, here are my favorite travel moments of 2014.

Soaking up the sun and stuffing my face with Italian food in Puerto Galera.

Visiting my grandma in Bicol while setting up my new business.

Celebrating Ryan's birthday in Hongkong.

Visiting Singapore for Khenzies birthday.

... and then continuing our summer vacation in Baguio.

Celebrating my birthday with friends at Celeste Hotel.

Spending one month in Boracay with family and friends.

Exploring Indochina for 6 weeks with this babe.

Falling inlove with Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

Exploring Saigon and Mekong Delta.

Uncovering the hidden gems of Thailand.

Bamboo Nest de Chiang Rai

Bamboo Nest is a lovely bamboo guesthouse set amidst the mountains of Chiang Rai. It is so tucked away in its own corner of earth, so far away all you hear is the sound of silence. It was almost as if the time stood still here.
The bamboo huts are basic, but surprisingly comfortable.  Each  had a small solar power to provide some light in the evenings after the sun sets and a propane water heater for hot showers, and the best views you can ever imagine.
As dusk fell we would lit a campfire on a platform over the valley's edge, we would sit beside it, staring at the the sea of stars while sipping my favorite wine. The almost full moon makes the view even more intense and beautiful.
This place is an absolute bliss. Cant wait to return one day.
